Wondering if anyone has seen an effect on sipx media services in 4.6?

On FS, centos5 actually greatly outperforms centos6... Somethings not right
but I havnet been able to put my finger on it... Once of these days I'll
oprofile this thing and see whats up
CentOS 6 should be avoided at all costs at the time of writing this.
There are performance issues inside of it which Ken Rice hasn't had
the time or energy to chase down.
Interestingly some bsd folks warned me about CentOS 5 timing problems in the
kernel when it was released. Is it a similar sort of thing with RedHat
putting in their own kernel stuff?
Are we talking a high load machine when mentioning performance problems?
This is the first I've heard of CentOS 6 performance problems.
Thanks for the heads up

This is sort of not very helpful as a discussion goes.

While there may be some merit in this, noone on this list has complained of
performance issues on sipx 4.5/4/6 as it relates to freeswitch. Realize
sipxecs does not use all of the same freeswitch modules that most people
using freeswitch install and utilize for other functionality. Example: Most
people use it as a b2bua instead of a stateless proxy (like freeswitch),
which will greatly affect performance. Using sipx as the proxy really
insulates and makes the system scale higher as far as media services go,
which is why it was chosen. At the same time, the version that the people
who might be having performance issues with freeswitch might not be using
the same version that sipx is using. Sipx is using Freeswitch 1.7.

If there are people with performance issues with sipx as it relates to
media services (i.e. freeswitch), we would all like to hear about it, but I
think until this happens there's no need to invent a crisis or waste a lot
of time figuring this out as the devs need to finish their work for the
pending release.

Thanks for the heads up. The best place to look for answers would be on the
freeswitch lists for the time being though.
