Has anyone implemented any of the additional available plugins for Openfire in sipXecs 4.6? Specifically, the packet filter plugin.

We are considering providing instant messaging capabilities to all employees but use the packet filter to attempt to restrict who they can and cannot chat with.

Thanks in advance for any insight into the matter.

We have not included the packet filter plugin into the distribution.
However, as with any other plugin, you should be able to just copy it into
${OPENFIRE_HOME}/plugins and it will be picked up. You will have to use
Openfire's console to configure the rules however, since there will be
support for that in sipXecs' console.

I messed with this with 4.4 openfire. We've tested and used the Redfire
conferencing plugin and it works fine. Never tried the packet filter
one, we also use server to server in openfire so users at different
offices can chat with each other.
