Out of curiosity, would one be able install centOS 6 then install SipXecs
4.4 to then later upgrade to 4.6 when it is stable?

No because we didn't backport but restoring 4.4 into 4.6 is way tested if
that's your concern

No, my concern was going across state to install a phone system and test,
and getting it running with two 24 hour crisis lines. Then not long after
doing it all again.

or

just hoping the existing PBX doesn't die in the mean time.

I have setup and tested restores from each of our 4.4 production servers in
my test environment, all successfully. I do know the restore is working.

Thanks for the answers.
