Thanks! I was not able to look at the logs on the FTP NAS devices, but
was able to on Filezilla FTP... and sure enough, it was not able to
create the directories. It was a permissions issue. Rookie mistake.

What do the FTP logs on the remote FTP server show?
I had a junk FTP server (already installed on a workstation for another
app) that wouldn't take the command to create the directories. I
switched to Filezilla, and all is well.

I tried it on Filezilla FTP, on a Netgear NAS built in FTP server and a

4.04 and not a clean install. I may have some settings incorrect. I'll
give pure-ftpd a try.

I just tried both manual and scheduled backup to ftp (pure-ftpd,
freebsd).
Both worked ok for me.

Has anyone tried using a scheduled backup of SipX config/VM to
FTP on 4.2? It seems like it is not working correctly. I've tried 3
different FTP servers. SipX makes the connection as per FTP log but it
is not backing up anything. Refresh of the ftp folder is empty. A
local backup on the SipX server works fine.
